Jupiter’s Storm, 2020

Epoxy resin, alcohol ink, glitter, mica pigments on wood board

This painting was inspired by my new love of the desert, and how connected to outer space you can feel there especially at night. The colors I chose were to capture the vibrancy I found in the desert of Death Valley. When I poured it and blended I got this stormy look that reminded me both of a desert sand storm, and surface/storms of Jupiter. The wonder of both places is as powerful as a hurricane.

About my paintings:
Throughout my career, I have experimented with abstraction using a variety of artistic methods and mediums. My resin and pigment paintings allow me to create entirely new worlds that evoke a variety of themes and emotions, which I hope compel the viewer to see many different things with each composition I create.

How its made
This piece was created using epoxy resin and glitter poured onto four wood canvas board. Mica pigment and acrylic paint was added to the resin to create the vibrant colors.
